2 Stroke Smoke
1 ½ oz Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
½ apricot
¾ oz lime juice
¾ oz sugar
¾ oz ginger tisane
4 Thai basil leaves
1 slice jalapeño
Method: stir all ingredients with ice. Pour into rocks glass. Top with jalapeño.
The Devil’s Mustache
1 ¾ oz Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
¼ oz Cynar
¼ oz lemon juice
¼ oz Agave syrup
Method: all ingredients are combined and shaken with ice. Double strain into a cup. Garnish with an orange peel.
The Zapotec
1 ½ oz. Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
½ oz Cointreau
¾ egg white
¾ lemon
¾ tsp mix of cinnamon, coriander, and honey syrup
½ oz orange juice
Method: combine all ingredients – dry shake. Then ice shake, serve in chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with fresh cinnamon.
Mayahuel
1 ½ oz Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
½ oz St Germain liqueur
¾ oz lemon
¾ oz Agave syrup
½ oz grapefruit juice
Method: shake and strain over ice in a glass rimmed with salt. Add pink grapefruit slice. Top with soda.
El Classico Manhattan
1 ½ oz Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
5 drops Angostura bitters
Method: add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and stir. Strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry.
Mestizo Old-Fashioned
1 ½ oz Mestizo Mezcal Reposado
1 tbsp Agave nectar
1 dash Angostura bitters
Strip of orange peel with pith, one inch wide
Method: add all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and stir. Strain into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice. Hold a lighted match over drink in one hand and orange peel in other hand, with orange side facing flame. Quickly squeeze orange peel until oils spark and drop peel into cocktail.
